Going Over The Edge

Image
In less than two hours, I will be rappelling down this building. ^_^ Super stoked and super nervous. Considering that happens every swim meet, I know I'm gonna do great. My family is here with me, supporting me all the way. ^_^ Am I seeing you at the #JeffersonBuilding today?

We All Need Support And Drive!

Support and drive are important. Some things my sisters knows about. My oldest sister is so passionate and proud of what I do; that sometimes she forgets of certain plans. I discuss of this, as well as my YouTube channel, in between songs today. It's Dancing Monday yet again, everyone. Romantic songs are mixed in with some swing and sass. Are you ready for this? Put on your dancing shoes, grab a water bottle, and get your boogie on. It's partying time! I'm broadcasting live in 2 hours! Listen in soon at http://tobtr.com/s/7991931. #BlogTalkRadio

A Turn For The Kids, Yeah!

I continue to talk of random topics, but no worries, everyone. I'm working on my improv; I really am. Today's topics consist of TV reporters, my weekend, and my sister. How could they possible connect, right? And don't forget. It's Dancing Monday. This time, the theme of music is consistent. Music by teenagers and young adults - woo hoo! Remember to have that water bottle handy, cause we are gonna DANCE! I'm broadcasting live in two hours! Listen in soon at http://tobtr.com/s/7926283. #BlogTalkRadio

I Just Can't Help Myself; I Love Music And Nothing Else!

Yep, I did it. I used a lyric line and warped it around. Of course there's more to life than music. I will explain that and so much more. I won't be talking entirely of music, but also my writing, Special Olympics, and me moving - twice this year. Yikes! Don't forget it. It is Dancing Monday! Yay! So pick up that water bottle and dance to the groovy, random music I will be playing. I honestly want to keep you hydrated; drink lots of water, everyone. I'm broadcasting live in two hours! Over The Edge - No, Not the film!

On Monday, I was asked by Special Olympic Missouri 's PR to do more commercials. I had already done TV commercials for the fundraiser over a month ago. I wondered what he meant. It turns out there are radio ones as well. Then he asked if I would be willing to volunteer AT THE EVENT ! Special Olympics gets to pay my donation in order for me to be harnessed. He said I could think about it throughout the day. I knew if I did, I would say no. So I immediately said yes. So here are the reasons I said yes. 1 - One of the TV commercials made me quote that I'd see them at the Top. I figured this would confirm it. 2 - I could get over my fear of falling. 3 - this is just like Fear Factor. 4 - when would I ever get a chance like this? I've always wanted to repel, even if it's 13 stories down . Today, I forgot to bring my cell phone to karaoke. Something that happens at the apartment complex I live in. Only once a month, on the last Wednesday unfortunately. It turns out ...

Positive Realization

Lately, I've been coming to a lot of realizations. Ever since the SOMO Leadership Conference in Branson, that's been happening. I really have changed while being an athlete of Special Olympics Missouri. I don't know where I'd be without them. Another realization has come to pass. I am volunteering once more at the True/False Film Festival. During the mandatory volunteer's meeting, people received pins who are volunteering for five years or more. I've been volunteering for six! ^_^ And I think this is another source of positive energy for me. So much has happened over the years and 2015. Because I won 2014 State Athlete of the Year, I was interviewed by a local newspaper. She asked me a lot of personal questions, which surprised me. And the day before they put the article on their website/paper, she called me and asked about my writing. I tried to say teenager; she thought I said teacher. Lol. Whoops. And I know I told her about a pamphlet being incorrect abo...

Writing On A Regular Basis

You know, I've been thinking about this for some time. It made me realize something. I write more on Twitter and my Facebook page than I do on here. And I want to change that. No, I don't mean stop my blogger page. That's like saying I quit a hobby, and I don't normally do that. Also, I'm not going to stop using Twitter or Facebook. Having more than two platforms to frequent kind of overloads me sometimes. I want to write on Blogger more, and I have somewhat put a boundary on myself to only update all of you. I think what I'm going to do is journal more. Yeah, it doesn't hurt to update all of you. Especially since my radio show and my YouTubr channel might get more views now. I won Athlete Of The Year 2014, for Special Olympics, and they plugged both of them in the nominees pamphlet under my name. Also, not a lot of people trust the Internet, myself included. So I can't really exploit my life too much. I will try to write more often though. Not just in u...

Leadership Conference

Image
Friday and Saturday, there was a leadership conference hosted by Special Olympics Missouri. The woman in charge, Diane Brimer, asked me a month ahead of time to give some speeches during the awards luncheon. I would have done it if I didn't have to miss work. Last week, though, she told me the real reason she wanted me to go. I was nominated for Outstanding Athlete. ^_^ I immediately asked my boss to let me have the day off. I had so much fun at the conference. I even made some new friends. I did a great job giving those scripted speeches. And to top it off, the girl had a difficult time reading my name as the winner for Outstanding Athlete. Yay! While I walked on stage, I had wished my family was there to see it. Wish granted! I heard someone shout "way to go, Allison!" The man presenting all the awards came to me and asked if I recognized the people holding single letter posters spelling my name. O_O I'll tell you one thing. I am a bit pissed. My family knew for mor...
